Led Zeppelin is the Ultimate Rock and Roll legend

I've been in rock and roll all my life and I am very aware that the Rolling Stones have been called the best band rock and roll. Do not get me wrong because I love Mick and the Stones and the Beatles were my biggest musical influence, but here is why I think that Led Zeppelin is the greatest Rock Band and roll of all time:

1. BEST PLAYERS

First, John Bonham was the best rock and roll drummer who ever walked the face of this planet and that's an informed opinion from a former professional drummer. John played drums unlike anyone else ever did, still does, or ever will be, and this fact is shown continuously in the incredible breadth and depth of his recorded work. He had complete independence in all four limbs, which closed its more drums harder than anyone, and did so with speed and total precision, never once dropping the beat. His rhythms were innovative and creative, and John has Never Been caught in simple grooves. Its full were innovative, creative, complex and technically brilliant, he knew when to keep it relatively simple (ie Kashmir), but was always in the stratosphere battery. And to top that all vehicles, John created a giant drum sound which is unique. Inspired a number of imitators who were able to imitate the sound of his drum, but only with a simple backbeat. In the time it was formed Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page, may have gotten any drummer in the world to play with him, and he chose John. Not a single battery life and brightness dead can begin to play the power of John, creativity, speed, accuracy and technique. I heard that Jimmy still feels the same way about John as I do.

Second, Jimmy Page has always been one of the best rock guitarists ever, from his early days as a session musician and the beginning of his public stardom in the Yardbirds. I think Jimmy is the brightest prolific of all the great rock guitarists roll. I suspect that Jimmy would agree with me that Jimi Hendrix was the true genius of the guitar because he came from another galaxy in terms of their sound and their use of feedback. But unfortunately, Jimi was killed and never know much more would have advanced. When I listen to Jimmy's solos with violin bow, I have the need to make it the same pedestal that Hendrix and wonder which galaxy they both came. As a songwriter, Jimmy used his superior ability to play the guitar to create actual song structure. Led Zep riffs songs not to use one or two of Jimmy's incredibly powerful, and incredibly sexy in every song, but there are four, five or more riffs in some songs. Jimmy's riffs differ from each other in every song, and also from song to song. His playing the guitar can be difficult and attractive, which may be sensitive and beautiful, and may be technically brilliant, all in the song itself.

Thirdly, John Paul Jones is a bass player who reached a level comparable brightness that of Paul McCartney. Like McCartney, John could play beautiful "melodic" bass (ie "Ramble On"), which could play as fast as it gets, but I also knew that to keep it simple and just hold down the bottom, although I was unable to do that without saying sophistication. No one can touch all of those two on bass, and John also played consistently brilliant keyboards – piano, organ and synthesizer. The intricate manner in which he weaved his guitar playing bass in, through and under Jimmy's guitar is nothing less than perfection itself.

And last but not least of all, Robert Plant had a high vocal range, emotionally and in terms of octaves. As Dylan was for his own music, voice of Robert was perfect for the music of Led Zeppelin and no other singer who could have fit like a professional singer, I'm knocked out by Robert voices, in both technical and emotional level. Robert understood the concept of using his voice as a musical instrument, creating fascinating sounds without using lyrics. And Robert co-wrote with Jimmy too. Many times they can not understand their lyrics and I've heard that Robert had intended because like Mick Jagger, the only thing that mattered then was that connects to the excitement and energy all music. But when you can get the lyrics (like in Stairway to Heaven, their tribute to Janis Joplin), is a great piece of poetry. And above all So Robert was best "oooh yeahs" in the business!

2. CREATIVE Composition

Almost no one has covered songs by Led Zep Very Good reasons. Their song structure is based on their superior gaming skills and no one really can play what they played. I'm talking about the songs are not based on simple chords, like other rock and roll is. Jimmy and Robert based their songs on Jimmy's riffs and chord tones to this day as the only independent. I'm also talking about length of songs that maintain a constant and intense high, up to 11 minutes without resorting to a chorus too repetitive. I know of his solo work after Led Zep Robert also uses unusual tonalities in his writing, but even without actually knowing this would have to assume that because Jimmy Page, to be a source of eruption of brilliant guitar work, most non-vocal music creation came from Jimmy. The Beatles certainly worthy of worship absolute creative writing ability of John and Paul, no doubt about that. Certainly Mick and Keith wrote a series of Classic Rock songs, historic and memorable, but the very nature of its relatively simple rock and roll structure and basic similarity to each other in terms of using major chords progressions and children, the simple and basic rock and roll rhythms, and verse chorus / / bridge approach defines them as less innovative with respect to Robert and Jimmy.

3. SUMA TOTAL OF BRILLIANT WORK

Here the stones left behind, because most of the albums the Stones have "fillers" which are songs that do not reach the same high intensity that crashed in its best. However, I would say that I do not think either Mick or Robert is able to record anything less than a brilliant voice. The Beatles actually exceed Led Zep in the number of great albums that constitute a larger body of work unique and innovative genius who literally opened new music with each song they recorded. The Beatles were simply The Beatles, and they were the most creative rock and roll ever to be the best singers and songwriters ever right down to its individual charm and charisma. But without denigrating their gorgeous style, sensitive and original play, recorded it is not heavy type of rock and roll that either the Stones or Led Zep played. George, Paul and John were brilliant and creative guitarists, but because they improvise on stage, they were not really master guitarists. I love and respect both Ringo as a person and a very creative drummer who mastered the art of drum sounds. He has his own unmistakable Ringo style for both, but he is not really a master drummer in the sense of being able to play with great speed and skill. I'm talking about 9 LED Zep albums songs full of bright, high intensity – I do not know how many hours listening to great rock and roll is. There is not one weak track among all that work, and is there is simply no question that always opened a new musical path. Their debut album is still the best of all time (including Cream), and Coda, their "Swan Song" is equally perfect.

4. STAGE PRESENCE

Led Zeppelin was there when the concept of "rock and roll star" is still evolving. I grant that the Stones at least deserve mention honor as the best rock and roll band but is primarily due to their impressive touring record and Mick's superstar stage presence with his ability to put on a great show each time it occurs. And keep doing that at age 60 for goodness sake! My point is not that Led Zep necessarily had the best stage presence, just had an aura rock star sex true.

I could go on about Jimmy Page's skills as a producer, and other aspects of his greatness, as the length of time they were together, without a change of band members. And life was really like rock and roll wild archtypical bad boys equals the life led by the Rolling Stones in intensity, if not longer. Both bands are perfect examples of an artistic level of what I call FORM = CONTENT, which in this case means that these two bands of rock and roll personified the life of rock and roll.

In conclusion, the four categories do enough to benefit fully from Led Zeppelin for my not so humble award. Will never be another rock and roll band to approach the stratospheric musical heights that Led Zep reached. The Recording Industry Association of America, which has statistics correct list of Led Zeppelin as the third best selling act musical artist in history. The Beatles are first, with 166.5 million units sold in the U.S. only, Elvis is second with 117.5 million, and Led Zep is third with 106 million dollars. I think it's very significant that those statistics are becoming geometrically times the number of discs that were sold during the life of your performance. What has happened and is happening is that young people today are discovering mass because they are the age of consent and acknowledge and connect with the most powerful musical example of that sexual energy. They are buying their CDs, T-shirts, posters and other memorabilia. And frankly, I'm very happy.
