Surf Board
What is a good surfboard for a beginner?
I'm 5'5 and a bit on the heavy side, I've never surfed before, what table I get surf?
A surf, you gotta be home by the sea, ocean swimming forever (swimming pool) skills are essential. I do not know what your age, or if you have friends who sail. I recommend lessons for people who have no friends to teach surfing. You need to learn to surf the label and technique will need a board that you float well enough for you to take off (paddle and catch a wave). Most people learn best on long boards, although I have seen lots of surfers start with a short board and master it. Long boards are ideal for students. There are also good internediate length boards to learn on, funshapes, mini-mals and some hybrids. Whenever you can compete on a table and a new one when it is ready for a change (or maintain your board long. I bought a new longboard 6 / 7 years ago, and there are some days that is the perfect board for the conditions). I started surfing at 66 in a "9'6, but that's what everyone back then. Like most guys who surfed during the "short board revolution" listed in tables shorter every summer. I ended up with a custom 6'4 "double flap (which is as small as I left, but had lots of friends riding together in the range of 5 '). Today four tables are 9'4 "to 7'8" that I ride all the time. I can change depending on the conditions above or my mood. I suggest you go to a local surf shop (a real surf shop, not a shop selling swimwear some surfboards). People will not help you choose a beginner board that is right for your weight, skill level (Beginner) and the type of surf you have in your local breaks. If you have never sailed before, can help hook you up with lessons. By way, I'm 5'10, 220, so I'm not sure what kind of heavy for you. But beware, your weight is much more important in the election of a council how high they are (but people in the surf shop will help with that).

Surfing as a sport of kings
Surf boards and surfing have come a long way since it became popular in mid-1800.
Originally sport of royalty, surfing has actually been around since the sixth century, but in its modern form gained status as a symbol of style of life around the late 1860. It is thought that originally found its way to Hawaii from the Polynesian Islands in the mid-18th century.
Two princes of Hawaii to study in the U.S. demonstrated their navigation skills for the locals in North America and took the sport out there. Their surfboards have been originally shaped from solid wood, coral sand with granules and stained with bark or coal before being finished with walnut oil brilliant. Problems with original surfboards like this is that weighed about 150 pounds and has once acted as a sponge in water.
Duke Kahanamoku, a Hawaiian Olympic swimmer, demonstrated their skills on a surfboard during a visit to Australia in 1865. The storm dropped a shipment of Australia who have always been famous for their love of outdoor life and surfing style now known to the Western world was born.
The surfboard has evolved over the years from the original redwood solid ground, through wood composite, lightweight balsa wood fiber glass design built almost perfect present from polyurethane foam and fiberglass.
Very few changes have been made to the composition of the Board Directors since mass production began in the final years of 1950. Initially, long boards up to 16 'were very popular but not so easy to handle. shorter boards enjoyed a surge, is built around 6 'and 8 pounds lighter. They were much faster and easier to navigate than the cumbersome 16 footer.
Minor changes have been made for surfboards in recent years, but especially those that are optional. Some lifting was added to the nose and fins have also been added for stability. Although now you can buy surfboards fixed blades, is more common place to buy attachable fins. This gives the surfer the opportunity to experiment with which the fins are placed depending on the type of wave they are riding.
Surfing has advanced to a point in different phases and different driving styles call for a different kind of board for maximum speed and agility, which Maximum adrenaline. The alternatives are to double concave bottom, V-bottom, rounded square tail and tail swallowing, as well as different lengths.
A the best inventions that every surfer is rave about the surfboard leash. A simple device on the board can be tied to the surfers ankle, but is one that makes a surfer's life much easier. Before this, he or she would have had to get on shore to retrieve the card after each wave.
jobs custom-painted surfboards are a great business with a very extreme designs you can afford a surf shop to apply for you or, if you feel artistic, buy some spray paints or water based paint pens and get creative yourself. Covered with a transparent protective cover layer of these designs will last a long time, but always can be sanded back and re-do if you get bored.
Sex Wax is a product of the surfers, not something like it sounds! It is a wax that can be applied to the board where you would normally put your feet and hands to prevent slipping. However, some surfers prefer gripping the cover as an alternative. This is a stick on the pad that eliminates the need permanent hair removal.
Initially a men's sport, surfing has been removed from around the world and has many large female followers. Not only as groupies for surfers that guy but now as serious competitors themselves. It has also led to a whole fashion scene for men and women, costumes and beachwear, caps, sweatshirts and shoes. It has also led to a financial company in hair care, particularly for women who do not like having his hair constantly surfers.
