How can I shrink my jacket (80% Cotton 20% Polyester) down one size (from a medium to a small)?

I bought this jacket brand new and the store is out of stock of all smalls and I have a medium. I need to know how to shrink it down from an adult medium to an adult small. Basically what I need to know is how to wash it to make it shrink just like one size and not three. Hot water and high heat drying? Hot water cold rinse hang dry? Etc. Thanks.
Oh and also I think it was preshrunk…

It’s hard to predict how much the garment will shrink unfortunately, especially with the variance of heat from different brands of dryers. You could always take the jacket to a seamstress and get her to take the seams fairly inexpensively. If you know anyone who sews, they could probably take in the dart seams fairly easily. Good luck!
