How to be an Indie/Hipster person?

Hey Well im a artsy 14 year old male and like I really like that vintage looking style like clothes wise with lots of layers and old fashioned looking jackets and stuff or w/e like petticoats and v-necks. Now I usually wear a colorful Plaid Shirt and a pair of tight pants (not super tight and not jeans I h8 jeans 4 soem reason). I usually shop at H&M and Urban outfitter which I know are great to achieve this look. any or suggestions or things to wear? Thanks

-american apparel
-even target has some vintagey looking stuff!
also, you might want to think about working soome pairs of jeans into your wardbrobe, but slacks or trousers are cool too.

peacoats, band tees, sweaters / sweatervests, v necks, hoodies, converse, interesting old-fashiony shoes, are all good ideas.also, basically if you see any interesting cool clothes just grab em.
also, from looking on lookbook, etc, youll notice hipsters tend to have perfectly messed up bedhead hair. haha. work on your look )
