Bad Taste Affects the Value of Your Home – Decorating Blunders to avoid when selling your condo

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but unless that all potential buyers are legally blind you need to give serious consideration to how to decorate your can affect the selling price of your home.

After chatting with several of my fellow Realtors Langley on some of the worst problems we've seen (problems that can literally turn off purchasers and unnecessarily could cost you thousands of dollars out of your price range) I have come to a quick checklist of issues decoration you must be vigilant when it comes time to show your home.

The mark of "not so handy 'handyman – All design shows in the Garden Main channel and make repairs home look like a breeze. Apparently, all you need are a box of Popsicle sticks and glue gun and you can also create inside the sauna … Who knows?

Seriously, all these programs used by professionals, and the results they achieve are the end product of learning very big curve. Home repairs and ends when the results do not look professional rarely add value to the sale of your home. In fact, when potential buyers in situ a bad job can raise concerns about what else might have tried to "fix". So unless you really are a skilled craftsman can you want to step on that hammer …

Furniture suffering from "gigantism" – not so many years ago "large" was the new modern style for furniture. But like most other trends ranging from Polyester Leisure suites and key links for "Huey Lewis and the News 'what' in 'is therefore most definitely now.

The problem is that large pieces can make even a large room feel cramped. Sofas with steroids, dominating entertainment stands and yes guys, massive television and taking half the room – these are all things that make your space feel small, and space is one of the main things that buyers are looking for. So do yourself a favor and eliminate some of these giant pieces of furniture before the list.

Laundry piles should not be a part of your decor – this still appear from time to time, usually sticking out from under the bed. When an agent brings a potential buyer through the beginning of the sights and smells of old dirty clothes are a great way to turn off buyers.

carpeted bathrooms – This is a just plain wrong on many levels. The bathroom is a wet wet, well … with a bath. Having a carpet in your bathroom is like have a giant petri dish at home increased only God knows what. In my years as a Langley real estate agent I've never had a potential buyer to react favorably to this. In fact, most potential buyers do not even set foot there.

Strong patterns – Is the floor tile in your bathroom evoke sensations of vertigo shower? Did you fall into madness with a sponge 90 and sponge paint your entire home? Made a bold statement with Paisley wallpaper in the dining room? strong patterns can be a major selling off. There are always exceptions carefully selected, but more often that these statements not bold personal pattern can alienate viewers, making it harder for them to see themselves living in your space.

bad extensions – are not only for the hair. If you are thinking of adding an extension on his property to make it more attractive to buyers, I urge you to let your plans and continue to watch the game on television. Most house extensions never end looking like a natural part of the existing structure. In fact, they are a bit like a large goiter – which are clearly linked, but it sure does not seem to be there. Unless most professionally done, extensions only raise issues unnecessary on the structural integrity of your home in the minds of potential buyers.
