What will the next generation think of George Bush, Tony Blair and John Howard?
All three men put forward their moral character as one of the reasons they were the best to govern each country.
These men are all christians – middle aged white guy conservatives. Two of these men claim to talk to the sky god personally to get advice. They ignore all the human rights abuses in the world and yet claim to have the right to start illegal occupations. These guys are at the best ignorant old men at the worst crazy fundamentalists without a clue……….
we are better educated than most these days, and most of us dont know much about kennedy, nixon, thatcher, and whoever else was in the news back then. so id have to say the next generation will probably think nothing of some old guys they have never heard of.
Blair Rewards – 1 Million Dollars – Another Million Amid Blair Rewards Complaints
If you value your health, don’t vow to hold your breath until the Blair rewards complaints end. That advice is based on the fact that criticisms of Blair’s rewards to others and the frustration voiced over his personal monetary gains has been ongoing and there is no end in sight. Throughout the years it seems Tony Blair has advanced his political career while receiving financial gains that have come from some surprising sources. Just recently Blair was awarded a one million dollar prize for his leadership and determination in working to create agreements and solution to areas in conflict. That was what sparked the headlines that read, “Blair rewards – 1 million dollars – another million amid Blair rewards complaints.”
The avalanche of complaints does not mean that Blair does not have any loyal followers, because he most certainly does, but it seems that there are a growing number of displeased individuals in the world that believe Blair should be on trial for war crimes involving his actions in Iraq rather than receiving awards for them. The fact of the matter is that the million dollar award is a sort of repayment for assisting the United States and Israel while he was in office. This seems to send the message to other political leaders that if they more or less, do the ‘right’ thing for the right country(s) that they too can receive large monetary incentives such as Blair rewards. And of course, these rewards can result in a very comfortable retirement, but these same rewards are confusing to the people in their country as well as others.
In truth, other world leaders such as French President Chirac, who openly opposed the war with Iraq, has not received any offers from JP Morgan, US lecture tours, or other prizes or rewards like those of Tony Blair. However, John Howard, the former Australian Prime Minister has fared quite well in the long run as well. He has been booked to participate in the US lecture tour, which happens to pay very well. Incidentally, John Howard supported the Iraq war.
This type of correlation and surrounding inconsistencies have resulted in the label that has been given to many of the tokens of appreciation and other such prizes granted by, and given to Blair; collectively these moves have been called the Blair rewards scam. Tony Blair has a long history of rewarding others for behavior or acts that worked in his favor in some way. Over the years some very powerful political leaders became members of the so called Blair rewards program.
While some of these leaders were successful before they had any dealings with Blair, others seemed to have found their careers put into fast-drive after the Blair easy saver assistance. This does not mean to imply Tony Blair is wrong for anything that he has done; it simply means the political world is littered with opportunities for advancements of all types to be made.
About the Author
I am Marley Masters and I am an advocate for the people. I pursue and believe in fair practices and accountability in the world politics and politicians. Throughout the last few years it may seem to many that Tony Blair rewards those that do more harm for his country than good in the name of getting paid, often times referring to his actions as the Blair Rewards Program for the undeserved. Many have raised opposition and want to know how the Blair rewards complaints are handled and why after so many have been made nothing has been done about it.
