Blue White

Blue White
What do the three colors of the French flag (blue, white, and red) stand for?

the colors are vertical and they go in the exact order of Blue, white, then red

The former posters are correct about the original tricolour. However, today’s French flag comes from the French Revolution. It was a play off the original tricolour, however it also has to do with the fact that Paris’ colors are blue and red. The Bourbons’ color is white. So, it was the colors of Paris separated by the Bourbon’s color. Notice, the French flag was not the tricolour until after the Revolution of 1789.
